Demonstration and Verbal Cues

In this video, Dr. Cheryl Vargheese addresses how a coach can use demonstration and/or verbal cues to support teachers’ instructional practices.  This video will provide an overview of what it means to model, demonstrate, and use verbal cues to support teachers. The competencies in this category represent some of the more intensive coaching practices, which also means that these competencies have a lot of potential to change teacher practices.

This subcategory focuses on how to help build teachers’ knowledge of how to implement evidence-based practices in different ways. It is not always straightforward to implement evidence-based practices, as some may be unfamiliar or complex. Coaches can think about where teachers are in their skill levels to understand the best approaches for helping teachers learn evidence-based practices.
