The Core Competencies for Coaching Professional Development (C3PD) Program
We (the Children’s Learning Institute) have had the privilege of working with coaches, mentors, and specialists from a wide variety of backgrounds. We have used everything that we have learned over the past decade through research and applied practice to develop the Core Competencies for Coaches Professional Development (C3PD). The foundation of the professional development program is the core coaching competencies (C3). The core coaching competencies represent the very best of what we have seen and learned effective coaches do when they work with teachers and/or administrators. The core coaching competencies is a framework that supports:
- goal setting and self-reflection
- mastery-based performance
- repeated practice opportunities in authentic settings
